Garlic and Chive Sourdough "Mops"

round sourdough bread
3 tbsp. sweet cream butter
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp. fresh chives, minced

Preheat oven to 425°F.

With a long, serrated knife, cut bread in half horizontally to make two rounds. Lay each piece cut side up.

In a small, microwave-safe bowl, combine butter and garlic and heat until melted, about 30 seconds. Brush butter mixture onto bread rounds. Sprinkle with chives. Cut rounds into quarters for 8 pieces total. Arrange pieces, butter side up, on a baking sheet.

Bake until lightly toasted, about 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Yields: 8 Servings
